Thailand November festival Sydney 2012 - Loy Krathong (ลอยกระทง) Part 5 Final

Every festival must have performances. The Parramatta's Thai Festival on the river is no exception.

Performances featured are Norah dance, Contemporary and traditional thai singing (the traditional one are surprisingly sound very much like Chinese tune and melody) and dance, Teoy Keaw, Fon Khan Dok, Ka-pro, Golden Lantern dance, Candle dance, fighting cock dance and thai puppet show.

Forgive me for not knowing which is which for the photos.

The festival also hold lucky draws and a singing competition. Yes, Loy krathong has its own song. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNJWizHWMxc). The link is for english version. There is a Thailand version on the related video.
Festival goers are given a chance to win the competition, with a grand prize of a return ticket to Thailand and a customized tour to some of the lesser known places in Thailand). Unfortunately due to time limit, they can only randomly draw 5 names who will compete. I didn't stay until that late to watch the competition nor the fireworks.

Overall, I think the festival was a success, I'm glad I stayed until at least the launching of the krathong. I'm looking forward to 2013 event.
